With the blessings and guidance of the Kanchi Periyavas, a residential Ghatikasthanam (place of learning)-Kamakoti Ghatikasthanam, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal Artha Sasthra Patasala- for boys has been established at Vedal, near Kanchipuram, on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway. It is run by "Dharma Prabodhana Trust, Kanchipuram".

The Objective

The main objective of this endeavour is to mould vidyarthis into able leaders while also inculcating in them a sense of pride and ownership in our ancient Indian heritage. Each one of us as a citizen of our Bharata Desam, is proud of its culture and traditional practices. It is our responsibility to practice, preserve and pass on the Sanathana Dharma baton to the next generation and to propagate the richness of our culture and tradition This requires a thorough knowledge of this Dharmic culture.

धर्माधर्मं न जानाति लोकोऽयं विद्यया विना।

There is a need to provide basic dharmic education right from the time when they are young

किं किं न साधयति कल्पलतेव विद्या ।

The Approach

Vidyarthis who have passed 12th std are imparted training in arts/skills such as classical music, sports, yoga, oratory, languages, office automation software, accounting software and computer applications through well-structured, industry-oriented courses, this is done simultaneously with their college/university education.

Vidyarthis are admitted to Sri Sankara College of Arts and Sciences - affiliated to the University of Madras (http://sankaracollege.edu.in/) or to Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Maha Vidyalaya - Deemed University (https://www.kanchiuniv.ac.in/).
